Jack Brant’s insurance coverage work spans the field including consultation, coverage opinions and coverage litigation. Jack is recognized as especially knowledgeable as to lawyers’ professional liability insurance. He is a long-time member and former Chair of the New Mexico State Bar’s Lawyers Professional Liability and Insurance Committee. He is available to consult with lawyers regarding the purchase or renewal of an LPLI policy, the various carriers providing coverage in New Mexico, claims reporting, coverage analysis and coverage disputes.
Jack has extensive experience representing insurers in analyzing coverage issues. He is skilled in preparing coverage opinions and reservation of rights letters. He has provided these services to liability insurers in a variety of industries. He understands New Mexico insurance law and practice and can assist an insurer in determining under New Mexico law when it is safe to deny coverage and when it is prudent to defend under a reservation of rights.
Jack has years of experience representing both insurers and insureds in coverage litigation in New Mexico courts. He has both prosecuted and defended declaratory judgment lawsuits, coverage lawsuits, and bad faith litigation.
